At the event, Debo Zhang, General Manager of HONOR GCC, emphasized the company’s mission to create “a smarter, more connected lifestyle” through AI-driven devices and seamless cross-platform experiences.
“Our participation at GITEX reinforces HONOR’s position as a global AI ecosystem leader,” Zhang said. “We are bridging smart devices, AI services, and cross-OS connectivity to deliver innovation that enhances real life.”
HONOR also announced the upcoming opening of its AI Smart Living Innovation Hub at The Dubai Mall, designed to merge technology, culture, and creativity under one immersive experience space.

During GITEX, HONOR signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Zayed University, aimed at strengthening AI education and applied research. The collaboration will focus on developing advanced computing labs, AI curriculum frameworks, and hands-on learning programs for students.
In partnership with the UAE Cybersecurity Council, HONOR also launched the AI CyberFest Startup Challenge, empowering young entrepreneurs and supporting the UAE AI Strategy 2031. The initiative promotes the development of a safer, smarter, and innovation-driven AI ecosystem in the region.

At the TechTalks 24 forum, Zhang introduced HONOR’s on-device AI Deepfake Detection—a first in the smartphone industry. The technology allows real-time identification of AI-generated manipulations without compromising user privacy, underscoring HONOR’s focus on responsible and ethical AI innovation.
Launch Preview: The “Unbreakable” HONOR X9d
As part of its GITEX showcase, HONOR revealed the HONOR X9d, dubbed “The Unbreakable AI Smartphone.” The device boasts resistance to dust, heat, and water pressure, plus an 8,300 mAh battery for extreme endurance.
