Lagos, Nigeria – October 7, 2025: The Nigerian market is among the most competitive in the world, according to Kingsley Onwukaeme, convener of the Location Marketing Awards (LOMA). Speaking at the 2025 edition of the awards in Lagos, Onwukaeme emphasized that despite Nigeria’s strong market performance, the country has not done enough to amplify its story on the global stage.

Toggle“We are not telling our story enough and not amplifying it,” he said, urging businesses to document their processes, showcase results, and advertise achievements internationally.
Telling the Nigerian Story
Onwukaeme challenged operators across logistics, operations, sales, and marketing to take ownership of their narratives.
“If you don’t tell your story yourself, no one will. Don’t short-change yourself—those loudest are not always the finest. Showcase your efforts and works,” he noted during the pre-award conference, which drew local and international delegates.

LOMA 2025: A Celebration of Excellence
The second day of LOMA 2025 culminated in a glamorous award ceremony celebrating the out-of-home (OOH), advertising, and marketing industry.
Onwukaeme highlighted that the awards process remains rigorous, impartial, and transparent, qualities that have positioned LOMA as a benchmark for excellence across Africa.
“This is not a night for comparison. It is a night to celebrate ourselves for working hard in the past 12 months as individuals, corporate workers, and organizations,” he said, adding in Pidgin, “Because You Sef Don Try.”
